# API enhancements

> Employer Search: A new API endpoint that can power in-app employer searches of Argyle’s coverage.

Today we’re introducing a new API endpoint called [Employer Search](https://docs.argyle.com/api-reference/employer-search).

This endpoint can be used to create free-text employer search inputs in your applications.

* The endpoint returns a list of employers that best match the user's query.
* Visually display the search results, which can be continuously updated real-time as the employer is searched letter-by-letter.
* When the user selects their employer, they can be [directly connected](https://docs.argyle.com/workflows/account-connections#direct-login) to that employer in Link and log in to their account.
