# API enhancements

> Uuid's are replacing string-based Item ID's.

A new `item_id` field has been added to the [link-items endpoint](https://argyle.com/docs/legacy/api-reference/link-items).

This field returns the ID's of Link items in `uuid` format (e.g. `0126ba6f-c30b-42a8-bd6e-5d7e13b9bfac`). In the future, Link items will be queryable by their `item_id` values.

This change is to accommodate names changes (i.e. Facebook to Meta) and lessens the reliance on string-based ID values.
