# API enhancements

Users can now be created via the API.

Users and an associated user token can now be [created](https://argyle.com/docs/legacy/api-reference/users#create) through Argyle's API without needing to initiate Link.

You can also now provide external metadata when creating or [updating](https://argyle.com/docs/legacy/api-reference/users#update) users via the API.
